Bloggers note: a road to
"Searching for Encounter in Contemplation"
..A couple of people asked us to share how to meditate on the Rosary.
In this video we go very deep in making the Rosary come alive and have GREAT meaning.
We give tips on how to use our imagination in the way God intended, rather than selling them out to the foibles of the evil one.
VIDEO ..
welcome we're back again to answer some
questions and but this one sister I think this one deserves a whole video again um not a long one but but a video we've had a couple of people ask this question about the rosary and especially as we are on the Feast of the Holy Rosary is Saturday Our Lady of the Rosary October 7th right yes and of course this month is really dedicated to so so this one person Alma said you know that they wanted us to be able to share how do you meditate on the Mysteries of the Rosary I'm having a hard time and we don't know how to do this stuff is what they said can you please help us on meditating uh on the Mysteries of the Rosary yes would it be the first thing that you would share sister cuz I know a lot of people that that struggle with the rosary and a lot of people people will just say say the rosary mechanically they'll just say it to get it over with our father who are in heaven hallow be the name you know and just say it mechanically what what have you heard uh about the rosary sister throughout your life well as I begin I just want to even acknowledge Pope St John Paul II's writing on rosarium in 2002 I believe he was riding on the rosary and within that he actually said contemplation it's like a body without a repetition right and so what is contemplation how do you contemplate The Mysteries of the Rosary and you know just adding to that which he also acknowledged that the rosary Mysteries are meditating on the most significant gospel passages a lot of times even protest will say you need to meditate on scripture and they they think the rosary is heresy or not of God and in fact the rosary is meditating on the most significant gospel passages in and Through the Heart of Mary the one who has known and loved Jesus the Incarnate Word most fully and wholeheartedly so entering into the rosary Mysteries I would say this St IGN of lyola spoke of lexio deina which is meditating on the word of God he said there are three ways of meditating on scripture the first is just reading it on the page the second is actually reading it and imagining it happening before you like watching a play right and he said the Third Way is actually entering into the scene and becoming one of the characters and so for instance becoming one of the characters that stirs in your heart as you're entering in you could even become Mary or Jesus become one with them to dispose ourselves to the grace that they're experiencing but I would just say this what I often do is enter in as myself cuz some people might go how can I be Mary and how can I be Jesus you know well it's like you you're you're trying to put your self in their place and experience what they possibly could experiencing and they want us to do that they want us to enter into the mysteries in that way yes and and you know what's profound in this mystery of Christ life is that because of Christ's hypostatic Union being fully human and fully Divine every single moment of Christ's life was both inside of time and outside of time and because of this we're actually able to go there today we're actually spiritually able to enter in to the mystery and Christ back then encounters saw Yes and and that is such a profound Grace but you know if you think about it even the Holy Mass because we're told it's a reliving of calvary it's making Calvary present in our time but the same in one sense as we enter into the mysteries of these most significant gospel passages we're able to go there and be in the mystery so for instance imagine being at the birth of Jesus of course we're all so familiar with Christmas right and we go before baby Jesus and the manger scene but wouldn't it be amazing to actually go to Bethlehem and be there in the cave with Mary and Joseph and you can do that and be yes you can do that you can be adoring the Divine Christ child yeah you can as we exercise our spiritual senses imagination Ander enter into this I know some people don't have as easy a time using the imagination so you have to do well a vision that's coming to me right now is that you see all these young people and they're on these uh computers playing these virtual reality like race car driving and it's almost like they're there like they're driving the car and now this is what God is Desiring our imagination to be used for you're not behind the the vehicle you're not really driving that car but yet you feel like you are right well God is wanting us to use our imagination you really are going to Bethlehem what was it like for Jesus and Mary and Joseph at that time what was it like remember when the three Shepherds they went to uh Joseph and Mary and they were so excited explaining to them how the Angels appeared to them and said glory to God in the highest you can enter into that scene you can be excited with those Shepherds you can see how Joseph and Mary must have felt with this confirmation coming from these poor Shepherd uh people and and they're sharing what the Angels just just told them there's so many things that we can do brothers and sisters uh with the imagination that God has given to us and and I think that's where danger can come in if we allow our imagination to be taken over by AI or right by us others which puts you into a virtual reality that's not a good thing we really have to be Discerning about what we allow including movies and TV shows any videos of any kind and because I I know of a woman who was homeschooling her son and she said that she did not let her son see a lot of videos because she wanted him yes she wanted him to read a lot to in order to exercise and imagination as he was growing up because that is a problem today I believe because it's harder to use your imagination when you've been so um pampered with having images brought to you constant images yes and so you so you're constantly and these images a lot of them are fake sister and and they are there and and so they enter into your your mind and everything so it's hard to even get rid of them I know people who pornography it takes a long time to try to counter that because that can remain in your imagination right and possibly forever and I heard a man who was addicted to pornography say that the key to getting out of it was this the most holy rosary yes wonderful he said that he prayed the Rosary every day and he said that the more he entered into the rosary he was able to get those holy images into his mind into his heart and the evil uh Unholy images began to go out that's Wonder of his mind and of his heart that's wonderful yeah and so just to bring you through a couple of the Mysteries all right for instance when I enter into the anunciation I go there to the little room where Mary is and the angel Gabriel is appearing to her you know different times I will imagine myself in different ways sometimes I'm entering the room and I'm disposition and and I'm just opening scene other times I actually become one with Mary and imagine being one with myself to saying yes to God and being fully surrendered to God in his Divine will as she was Mary was in that in that state of total Fiat be it done unto me oh Lord according to your holy will and and so I open myself with God with Mary's disposition and it's profound way of entering into the enunciation and you know that sister that is so beautiful because that is exciting to me oh listen that's exciting to be able to go to those places as you were saying it's so exciting it's not boring it makes the rosery so much more powerful when we can enter into those Mysteries and we can yeah and I I even wrote an article once uh praying the rosary much more exciting than h and that being because you are exactly right and this is that is reality Hollywood not I was just thinking I was like this is reality not virtual reality it is it is reality brothers and sisters and many things that we watch and that see a lot of it is fake right it is fake and you can't tell the difference between CGI which is computer generated imagery Ai and real you you you can't tell the difference and and a lot of times they're doing subliminal messages as well underneath so our subconscious is picking up things so really honestly the rosary can be such a profound and exciting Grace now this does not mean that we're always totally experiencing consolation and excitement and and um ease and praying the rosary because there are times when it's dry and it's hard to enter into the Mysteries but this is why you know each time I pray the rosary it's going to it's different you know sometimes I'm in adoration and I'm entering more deeply into the mystery it's taking longer we we actually do that on Saturdays when we do our cynical and we do we do do it live so if anyone wants to join us but we have a longer meditation and then we have quiet to dis expose ourselves within the mystery we all go to that spiritually but sometimes I'm doing it more quickly sometimes I'm just disposing myself to The Graces of the mystery and and a lot of times Graces come from times that I did take a longer time so that I can enter very deeply into the mystery quickly sometimes I do it when I'm exercising and it's a great experience there as well because I've had the grace to just enter into the mystery especially when I'm jumping on the mini because I'm not having to think about where I'm walking or anything and I'm opening myself to the mystery I love that yeah and it's true you can be in the car driving you can be you know walking you can be people are doing it when they're running um it it right it's it's a little harder when you're running or something and you have to watch out for traffic or this or that but you distracted and see this is this is what she's trying to say does you shouldn't is what I'm saying but yes right what she's trying to say is that on the days that you are able to go deeper and contemplate that is a time of of Wonder and Grace on the times that you're not able to go there it doesn't mean okay well I'm not going to pray it at all you need to pray it no matter what I wonder if that's why Mary encourages on the first Saturdays to spend 15 extra minutes on the meditating on the Mysteries cuz she knows it's important for us to take longer time to open ourselves to that contemplation that Pope St John Paul II was talking about when he said the rosary without contemplation is like a body without a soul it's mechanical contemplation is encountering our lord it's communion with God that's right communion with God it's disposing ourselves to God's presence with us and so that's why when we enter into the mystery we don't just enter in up here and IM and think of it up here but we this is the key you all we must enter in with all that we are all that is stirring in our hearts all that's weighing Upon Our Hearts and not just perfect in encountering God God wants us to come to him in our messiness and our struggles and our fears our anxieties our concerns our our great sufferings because Jesus has the most tender and loving and sensitive heart Compassionate Heart and he's longing for us to share our hearts with them so when I enter into the mystery like say for instance I'm entering into the Luminous Mystery the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan I will go to the Jordan River where Jesus baptized I come to him as I am and I and and I sometimes I imagine Jesus walking over to me after being baptized and of course this ex is exciting you know but I I open myself to him I encounter Jesus with right where I am and right who I am at the time and let him encounter me and let him uh communicate to me however he does whether it's just with his gaze a lot of times I hug him he hugs me you know another example the uh Jesus's three mystery I can either be the hemorrhaging woman but most of the time I come in as my own hemorrhaging woman as with my own hemorrhages your own and that's how we should all come we should all bring our own hemorrhages our our sufferings our wounds and so I I try to go and be I Jesus and I try to reach out and touch him you know often times it doesn't end with me touching the Hemm of His Garment because often times he does come to me encounter but for each one of us it's going to be different and this is what St Ignatius of lyola spoke of in the lexio deina it's really uh encountering Jesus right where we are and inviting him in and seeing what Grace is open and and you know this is this is what I'd like to say to everyone out there pray the way you pray best yes yes um a lot of times we try to imitate other people and we may not be there and God might want to speak to us in a totally different way so pray the way you pray best and as long as we are praying the rosary entering into the Mysteries even if you can't enter into the Mysteries and you're you're saying the words Hail Mary full of grace at least to see you know the Angels saying these words to the Blessed Virgin Mary and how did that make her feel you know and and so forth or whatever you know um comes to you at that moment and and at this sharing please don't allow this to make you feel bad if you have a hard time imagining or if you hard have a hard time entering into the mysteries in this way because as she said we're all different and you know you may do better reading it having the scriptural Rosary that even has a a scripture after each Hail Mary right but the key is some people might be sick you know really sick and they have a hard time imagining right you know or you know just doing the best that we can and as we persevere because when I first started praying the rosary this was decades ago when I heard Mary encouraging us to pray the rosary I started doing it but it was very dry at first and I felt like I was fumbling like a little child uh and it was hard to know even how to do it but I persevered and in the beginning I actually used Rosary CDs and all to help me to even know how to pray the rosary right and there's a lot of really good ones on YouTube different things even with pictures and all but as I did that and I would often do it in adoration start praying the rosary and adoration our Lord started revealing to me the images of the Mysteries and it started being so profound but it took time through me persevering through dryness and just continuing forward in that so just realize to brothers and sisters that the evil one hates this he hates the mysteries of the Life of Christ he does he hates there's enmity between his offspring and Mary's off spring and there's so much and she crushes his head in the end and her Immaculate Heart Will Triumph so you see this my my brother said this one time see he showed this to my mom he goes look it's a sword it is it's a sword it is that pierces it is like such a powerful weapon for our times and to give you some more examples in case you the agony of Jesus and the the garden I will go there to the Garden is it amazing that we can go there oh yes and Jesus yes Jesus back then in his Agony to the point of sweating his Precious Blood he saw us now right and this is part of the angel of consolation bringing that to Jesus to recognize all the people in the future that would be consoling his heart heart and so I enter into this mystery of the agony in the garden and I open myself to this reality of what is happening love is not being loved love is not being received or loved in return and so what stirs in my heart in this time what stirs in your heart as you are there entering in to Jesus's presence sweating his precious and take a moment to come to him with our hearts and often when I do that I'm led to just tell Jesus I'm sorry I'm so sorry for the times I have not received his love and loved him in return for the ways that I have caused him to sweat his precious redeeming blood and I ask forgiveness and I I will pray that drops of his Precious Blood will fall upon me and Redeem Me redeem my heart and my self-centeredness and a lot of times I will just be there with Jesus and caress him and console him and say Jesus I want to receive your love I want to love you in return please help me that's perfect yes right there and and of course you can go through each Mystery so profoundly maybe another video we will do each of the Myster each of the sets of the Mysteries but to give just an one more example cuz this is one of my favorites I have to say the Jesus at Calvary on the cross suffering and Dying For Love of us a lot of times I bring all of those I hold in my heart which is really ultimately all of humanity right you know but Jesus is there I'm there at the foot of the cross Magdalene and his precious redeeming blood is falling upon us that's so beautiful I bring with me all those I'm praying for and all of humanity often and the blood his blood is falling and I ask him to allow his Precious Blood to fall upon all of humanity all those that I'm praying for all those that have that have asked for prayer and those most in need and including the holy souls in purgatory and it's just such a profound Grace so you see and even Jesus back then saw us now doing this so we encourage all of you to really enter profound Graces of praying the rosary that just really consoles the Heart of Jesus and of course it does console the heart of his mother as well because she wants her son to be known and loved and that's what Mary that's what she does she leads us to Jesus so where there's the Triumph of the Sacred Heart there's the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart where there's the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart there's the Triumph of this Sacred Heart because they cannot be separated right and so in closing just to give one more example of one more you just gave three I know but this one is so this is another favorite I have to say is the resurrection of Jesus oh so so entering into the resurrection okay so Jesus had 40 days of his risen presence of appearing to different ones and I allow him to appear to me and in all different ways sometimes even as he appeared to Mary you know in the little room this is a church tradition small te but but Mary reportedly said that Jesus lifted her up and held her to his heart and the the wounds The Graces flowing from his risen wounds just permeated Mary as he held her and she was just restored and renewed and permeated with his redeeming Graces and so sometimes I enter in like that I become one with Mary and receiving Jesus as he rises from the dead or I enter as myself and so there's all different things that we can do see Pope St John Paul II says we in our times should live as the first apostles and disciples in the reality of Our Risen Lord in our midst and and you can see if if you're praying The Mysteries of the Rosary praying this mystery then it will help you to be aware of our Lord's RIS and presentence always not only when you're praying the mystery MH and so this gives you little examples the rosary can heal us of many wounds that we may have and the rosary can help us to understand God's love for us right because many don't feel that love and they're longing for that love however many likes and loves you can get on social media is not going to give to you but Jesus and Mary will give that love to you and so we end with a Hail Mary yes Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee blessed art thou among wom and blessed is the fruit of thy wom Jesus holy Mary Mother of God pray for us s now and at the hour of our death amen Our Lady of the Rosary pray pray for us Our Lady of Victory PR pray for us for us St Bruno pray for us and look leento for the feast day amen amen God bless you we love you we pray for you
